Nut

Dates for Inviting Her
February 19-25

Representation
One legend says that Nut swallowed the sun at the end of the day, and birthed if again each morning. Therefore, she represents the ongoing cycle of birth, death and rebirth.

Reasons to Invite Her
Nut’s power can help women who wish to become pregnant, or people who want to birth any type of creative endeavor. She also offers solace to someone who just passed, and reminds you that your loved one is safe in her arms. If you’ve experienced another type of loss, ask Nut to show you how to make a comeback.

How to Invite Her
Begin the following ritual on February 19, after the sun has gone down and the night has settled in.

You will need: A dark blue candle, a candle holder, matches or lighter, a pen/pencil/marker that writes dark blue ink, a piece of paper, 3 star sapphires or other dark blue gemstones (like sodalite, blue fluorite, or lapis lazuli), a dark blue cloth.

The Ritual
1. Place the candle in the candle holder and light it.
2. By the candle’s light, use the blue pen/pencil/marker to write your intention from the goddess on the paper. State your request in a positive way. (Example: “Nut, bring me success in my new business”, and hold in your mind an image of your wish coming true).
3. Lay the piece of paper on a table or other surface.
4. Set the three gemstones that represent the night sky on the piece of paper.
5. Cover everything, except the candle, with the dark blue cloth. Let the candle burn for up to an hour, then extinguish it.
6. Leave everything in place throughout the week. Relight the candle each evening, let it burn for a while, then extinguish it. Hold the image of your desire being fulfilled as you sense Nut’s presence.
7. At the end of the week, burn the paper in a fireplace, or in any safe place and thank the goddess. Collect the stones and store them in a safe place.
