Whitelisting Email Relay Servers

If there are email gateways relaying directly to 0365, there are times that 0365 will block the relaying, due to it will treat the server’s IP to be spamming. To whitelist the server’s IP, here are the steps:

  1. Login as an Administrator to 0365 Web Admin Console.
  2. Go to Admin > Exchange.
  3. On the left panel, go to Protection.
  4. Go to Connection Filter tab, and edit the filter. Usually, the filter is labelled as “Default”. You can edit the filter by highlighting and clicking the pencil icon at the upper part of this section. A window will pop-up.
  5. Go to Connection Filtering. Add the IP address of the server to IP Allow List.
  6. Click Save once done.

Note that the Block List, as the title says, pertains to known IP address to be sending Spam mails, and therefore will be blocked upon added. Emails will no longer be processed upon connection, but rather be rejected by the server.
