Solution (Symantec Version 12 or higher):
1. Make sure Symantec Embedded Database is no longer running. Rename sem5.log file to sem5.old.log in this location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\db
Or (for older versions)
C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\db
2. Go to this location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\ASA\win32
Or (for older versions)
C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\ASA\win32
3. Execute the command below:
.\dbeng16.exe -f 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\db\sem5.db
Or (for older versions)
.\dbeng12.exe -f 'C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\db\sem5.db'
4. Open Services and run Symantec Embedded Database service.
